Free - No signup - Contact data stays in your browser

Preflight a HubSpot contact CSV.

Check a contacts-only quick-import file for headers, identifiers, duplicate records, property formats, tier limits, and workbook shape before a small test.

A HubSpot contact CSV preflight checks local file evidence before import. This private workspace masks contact values, requires explicit property types, and blocks contact-data exports until structural and identity blockers are resolved.

01 - How it works

Review contacts as an import contract.

A contact row is only safe when file structure, identity, and destination property expectations agree. The complete file is checked locally.

i. load

Open CSV or Excel

Drop a file, paste CSV, or load an imperfect or ready sample. Workbook selection and parsing stay local.

ii. state

Choose tier and intent

Set Free or paid limits, create or update behavior, a unique identifier, date interpretation, and explicit column types.

iii. test

Export a small batch

Resolve blockers, then download normalized UTF-8/LF CSV and the first 100 complete ready rows in source order.

02 - What it checks

Evidence before CRM mutation.

The desk validates what a file can prove and labels every portal-dependent uncertainty for review.

  • 01

    File contract

Check one-sheet workbook shape, tier byte limits, row and column limits, UTF-8 evidence, row width, and 1 MB cells or rows.

  • 02

    Contact identity

Review First name, Last name, Email, Record ID, custom unique columns, duplicates, and Record ID precedence by import intent.

  • 03

    Property formats

Explicitly check email, date, number, percentage, checkbox, phone, owner, enumeration, and additional-email columns.

  • 04

    Private handoff

Findings and reports omit contact values and filenames. Contact-data exports preserve every cell string and require no blocker.

Scope and handoff

Know what a local check cannot see.

The preflight never signs in to HubSpot or requests a property. Portal state and automation still need a controlled import test.

  • Contacts only

This release covers the quick contacts-only path. Multi-object imports, associations, marketing-contact settings, and overwrite settings are outside scope.

  • No portal state

Custom properties, options, owners, existing records, account timezone, permissions, workflows, and lists are not queried.

  • No acceptance guarantee

Review mapping, import at most 100 test contacts, inspect records and errors, and retain the source and a rollback export.

03 - FAQ

HubSpot contact CSV questions.

Can I validate a HubSpot contact CSV before importing it?
Yes. This local preflight checks contacts-only quick-import structure, headers, identifiers, duplicate rows and emails, selected property formats, tier limits, and workbook shape. It cannot query a HubSpot portal or guarantee acceptance.
No. Parsing, type choices, findings, masked evidence, normalization, and downloads remain in the browser tab. No contact value is sent to HubSpot or csvtodashboard.
HubSpot documents CSV, XLSX, and XLS contact files with one sheet, a header row, one contact per row, and a separate column for each property.
Email, Record ID, or a custom property configured with unique values can identify records. Record ID takes precedence when it is included, and Email still must remain unique.
No. HubSpot ignores blank cells during import, so they do not clear existing property values. Clearing values needs a separate deliberate workflow.
Separate values with semicolons and no spaces. A leading semicolon can append values instead of replacing them, but the destination property's available options still need portal review.
It checks the documented 20 MB Free tools or 512 MB paid file limit, fewer than 1,000 columns, the paid per-file row ceiling, and the Free rolling-day row limit as an account-dependent review.
No. A local file cannot prove custom property existence, owner users, enumeration options, timezone behavior, account settings, existing records, or downstream automation. Import and inspect a controlled test first.
